CV Ernst Oosterveld

Ernst Oosterveld (Haarlem, 1951) Conservatorium Rotterdam studie Compositie bij Theo Loevendie en Klaas de Vries, Fagot bij Casper de Roo, Gastlessen van Klaus Huber, Per Nörgard en Luciano Berio in 1980 afgesloten met de prijs voor Compositie.

Hij studeerde tevens aan RU Leiden theoretische organische chemie met bijvakken Computermuziek (Instituut voor Sonologie Univ. Utrecht bij Gottfried König en Paul Berg) en wetenschapsfilosofie.

Hij was docent compositie in Rotterdam (1979-1983) en later in Groningen (1990-2004). Uitgave van zijn werk voor div. bezetting bij Donemus : o.a. Melomotion, Rotations, Exchanges, SEQ voor solo ZETA-contrabas (Quirijn Altena), muzieksoftware en kamer ensemble (Schönberg Ensemble). Nieuw werk Transition States (2004), Entropia (2005), Samen voor het Residentie Orkest 2006.
Oosterveld is veelzijdig: als elec. pianist/componist behaalt hij in 1975 de eerste prijs op het LarensJazzfestival met het trio Soft Ice, bracht 2 cd's uit met eigen jazzcomposities voor het Frans Hals kwintet, richtte stichting de aantAsting op in 1984 met als doel het gebruik van de computer in de kunst te bevorderen, vb. de internationaal gespeelde Perspekt theatervoorstelling de aantAsting, de mime/muziek voorstelling Square Dance, waarbij 3-dimensionale diaprojectie, mime en muziek geïntegreerd zijn in een interactieve live performance. Als programmeur van computermuziek onderzoekt hij de mogelijkheden van de koppeling beeld en geluid, o.a. wireless tapdancer en midi mallet tekst-muziek instrument.
Vanaf 1990 is hij bezig met work in progress midiMorph. Een muziekcompositie programma (muziek-morphing, patroon algoritmen en vele andere compositie opties) voor compositie en improvisatie.Componist van film en animatiemuziek w.o. A Good Turn Daily van Gerrit van Dijk en TV documentaires waaronder met regisseur Henk Renou en Jan Kelder (U bevindt zich hier, Land van Herkomst, Afwas in de ijskast).
In 2005 richt hij samen met Quirijn Altena de groep ZEQ-ATTACK op, waarbij het 'hybride' spelen onderzocht gaat worden.
Concerten in Nederland, Italië en China (CEMC MusicAcoustica op het conservatorium van Peking).
Naast componeren, programmeren en musiceren verzorgt hij verscheidene uitgaven per computer voor o.m. MCO Hilversum (Groot omroepkoor, Radio Phil. Orkest, Metropole Orkest), Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orkest , Residentie Orkest, Donemus Amsterdam en andere componisten (w.o. Jan van Vlijmen, Rosy Wertheim, Jacques Beers).
